January Tour Wrap Up
This past week, the great Tom Rorem and myself did a string of shows in Portland and Seattle. What a great week we had together. Here was our show schedule:
Sunday: House of Paine - Marysville, WA
Monday: The Canby House - Portland, OR
Tuesday: Mississippi Pizza - Portland, OR
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Santa Lucia Cafe (with The Courage) - Centralia, WA
Friday: SPU House Show - Seattle, WA
All of our Washington Shows were a huge success I’d say. Every place we played was packed out. And people were very attentive. Portland was harder, I think, because people don’t know us as well down there so the turn out and response was not as positive as we’d hoped. But you live and you learn.
Here are some observations I’ve made about Tom Rorem:
1. This guy is passionate. He knows what he likes and is ready to tell you why it is so awesome. When he plays his songs he moves to the music. He feels it. He means it. There’s an undeniable radiance that comes off of him. Its almost Holy. Watching someone do what they were made to do is a crazy experience.
2. He’s very kind. Tom is a nice guy. I guess that’s all there is to that.
3. He has a lot of friends. It was nuts to be on tour and everywhere we went there were so many people who knew him. It was great for me, because I usually feel like the guy that everyone knows. I hardly knew anybody on this tour. It was a nice little break, I think.
I am very thankful to have been able to share the stage with Tom this whole last week. I’m also very happy with how the tour went overall and can’t wait to tour again. People have been very receptive to my music which is something I always worry about. We are our own worst critics, I guess.
Here are some iPhone snaps from the tour:

Music is the way to live, friends. Though its a struggle to live sometimes, it all comes down to people for me. If my songs can connect with you, I feel complete.
Thank you to all who came out this past week! If you’re in Seattle and have nothing going on tonight, come out and see Pablo Trucker, Garage Voice, and myself play a standing room only show at The Q Cafe!
